Product name: Retro Coffee maker
Country of origin: Portugal
Product description:
Drinking a good cup of coffee is one of the most satisfying pleasures you can have, says Mr. Eddy Peeters.
In this period of technical innovation, such as satellite television, digitalisation and space shuttles it is a nostalgic pleasure to relax with the RETRO Coffeemaker the old way of enjoying coffee.
Mr. Peeters created in 1989 the Retro Coffeemaker, a modern replica of one of the first filter coffee makers anno 1840 an extremely simple design. It consisted of a container and a glass sphere which were connected hermetically to each other by a metal tube. He saw this Viennese coffeemaker in a museum and knew that there would be a market for this type of brewing device.
The first Retro Coffeemaker was the DESIGN model of 600 cc = 8 cups. Two years later we commercialized the CLASSIC model also in 600 cc. Later he extended the range with the UNI model, a coffeemaker with a capacity of 1000 cc. Today you can choose between 3 models, 2 capacities and 5 finishings: copper, silver look, bronzed, silver plated and gold plated.
To create real refined table habits we created corresponding accessories like a serving tray, a milk can, a sugar dispenser, china cups, a turn-table of sugar, milk and biscuits all in the same finishing as the Retro Coffeemaker to create a harmonious set.
Their customers are: the catering industry, gift shops, companies for promotional gifts and individuals.
The prices go from €189 for the UNI up to €1304 for a 24kt. gold-plated model incl. serving tray, creamer, sugar bowl and mocha cups. The coffeemaker and its accessories are mainly made out of brass and copper. The main parts are completely handmade by Monilisa in Portugal.
80 % of the production is designated for export, mainly to the other countries of the European Community, Taiwan, Russia, and Japan. Now we now export more and more to Asia, the tea-loving countries, mainly because the western-coffee culture gains more and more interest but also because the Retro Coffeemaker can be used to prepare fine tea.
